Lilybird, Lily, or Nana Lily are the affectionate names we call my mother who lived with us for 3 years. Living in the moment is a reflection of our family’s decision to focus on the humorous aspects of our journey through Alzheimer’s disease. This blog is inspired by her courage, stubbornness, and humor living with this relentless disease. I hope you enjoy my posts and may my posts encourage you to look through the clouds for a ray of sunshine.
I Love the old picture. Saw you on the Alzheimers blog. My Mother turned 70 and was diagnosed with Alzheimers last September. I think like everyone, we thought.. this all has been going on for a while, why didn't we notice sooner? I try to read other alzheimer blogs about what to expect. I havent seen any that are like my Mom. Very angry, everything is an argument. She's very hard on my Dad. I thought maybe the anger was from being diagnosed and would go away, but it doesnt seem like it. I don't know what to expect if her anger gets worse. I don't like to blog much about how she is. Its very hard.
ReplyDeleteKerry,
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have seen a picture of your Dad before but your stance/posture is like his.
You even fold your arms like that. I liked the dance video too-Ryan adds spice to her life!
I guess from above comments you are fortunate she is so pleasant and still lots of fun. Lynn
