Lilybird, Lily, or Nana Lily are the affectionate names we call my mother who lived with us for 3 years. Living in the moment is a reflection of our family’s decision to focus on the humorous aspects of our journey through Alzheimer’s disease. This blog is inspired by her courage, stubbornness, and humor living with this relentless disease. I hope you enjoy my posts and may my posts encourage you to look through the clouds for a ray of sunshine.
Such a beautiful picture --- captures so much of the love and laughter and sweetness that you all shared together. We're so very sorry, Kerry....Know that you are loved...
ReplyDeleteKerry, I am Sue's sister Nan, and I wanted to tell you how sorry I was to hear about Lily. I have read your blog over the years, and it brought me a lot of comfort after my mom died. I shed tears many times while reading it, some from laughter, and some from crying. She sounded like such a beautiful, spirited lady, and I want to give my sincere condolences to you and your family. Thank you for sharing her and your lives with us.
ReplyDeleteKerry, I am so sorry to hear of Lily's passing. This blog is such a wonderful tribute to her. I know in my heart that there is a special place in Heaven for those who have suffered from this horrific disease. Loving thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Denyse
(daughter of Shirley who also suffered with Alzheimer's)
